"Safetex" ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene fiber (UHMWPE)．This product is independently developed by RSTIC and all the intellectual property rights and mature techniques of this product are owned by RSTIC. It is also the only one type of fiber produced in mass in China and its production is also one of the key projects supported by the State 11th Five-year Plan.

In 2002, RSTIC's development of ultra-high monocular weight polyethylene fiber was listed into project for national technology innovation by State Economic and Trade Commission. In May 2005, RSTIC's fiber project was inspected and approved by an expert panel, of whose members three were academicians of Chinese Academy of Engineering, organized by China Textile Industry Association, and overall technology of production of UHMWPE has reached international advanced level. In 2004, RSTIC passed ISO9001. In 2005, it was named State High and New Tech Enterprise, passed Beijing Certification for Project of Technological Result Transfer, and awarded Second Prize for Progress in Scientific Technology of Textile. In 2006, this project was named state key project for development of new products, and team of this project was honored Central Enterprise Learning Red Flag Group by SASAC of Sate Council. In 2007, this project was listed into program supported by Beijing Industry Development Fund.

The quality of UHMWPE is stable and reliable because in production RSTIC adopts modern equipment, mature techniques, first-level inspection and testing instruments, as well as strict quality supervision system. RSTIC produces a wide range and good variety of fibers from 55dtex to 2640dtex. All properties and performances of fiber comply with international advanced level, comparable to popular fiber products sold in USA and Holland. UHMWPE's breaking strength is 30-38cN/dtex, modulus higher than 1100cN/dtex, and breaking elongation lower than 4%. This fiber is popularly applied to national defense, public security equipment, naval vessels and ships, aviation and aerospace equipment, seashore petrol drilling equipment, medical facilities, and sports facilities, etc.
